“Running for my family and yours.”
Robert why did you decide to run for commissioner?
To bring back a level of trust, integrity, and accountability to the commissioner’s office; that the people can count on. To be in a position to make decisions that will benefit all residents of Precinct 4 and Harris County. Most importantly to give our community a choice in who represents them, not someone that was selected for them, and a voice that will put the community first before Special interest, Politics, and Cronyism.
I believe fiscal management of revenue in government is key to keeping taxes low, regardless of how much taxable revenue the county brings in; if the financial holes are not fixed we will always need more revenue. For example, wasteful spending practices such as signs that has to be replaced every time a new elected official takes office because the name of the previous official is on the sign. That’s just bad practice; does it help the tax payers to have the elected official’s name on the roads, parks, or any other signs? No, it's a waste of resources.
The fact is, when making discussions on programs or projects you can’t just consider the short term cost, but the long term cost to the tax payers must be examined as well. Tax dollars don’t belong to the County, they belong to the residents. It is the job of the County Commissioner’s office to manage those funds with prudence. Ultimately we must be a good steward of the resources we have been entrusted with by the people.
If elected as County Commissioner, I will work tirelessly to serve all residents of Precinct 4 with integrity and to ensure our community continues to prosper with the infrastructure in place to support this growth. In addition, to ensure our community is safe by providing the resources our emergency personal need.
Finally, as a resident of Precinct 4, I am running for your family and for mine because I believe I can and will make a difference.
Robert how does your background make you a good candidate?
I believe being a business owner in construction; having worked for a computer corporation and having helped to grow a start up Copier Company has given me the experience to manage the office of County Commissioner. The fact that I am not a politician but a person who lives and works in the community on a daily basis gives me an opportunity to talk to homeowners in order for me to understand what issues they may have as well. But most importantly I believe my understanding of business practices, commonsense and sound judgment will help me make good decisions as County Commissioner for our community.
